HOWDY!!
As President of the Texas A&M Mothers’ Club of El Paso, I would like to welcome you to our website. The purpose of our club is to support our Texas A&M students in many ways. One way we do this is by providing scholarships to Aggies who are from our area. We raise the funds for these scholarships through the sale of that El Paso Aggie Moms "Blasted" glassware! Our moms do ALL the work preparing the glass at glass workshops throughout the year. We then make the eleven-hour drive, transporting all our glass to A&M for the Aggie Mom Boutique during Parents’ Weekend! That is a real feat. We are well-known at Boutique, and have many return customers every year. This past year, we were able to award several scholarships to our Aggies for all our labor! It takes a lot of hard work and commitment from our moms, but it is a labor of love and feels so good when we see the results.
We hope that you will enjoy viewing our "Blasted" glass on our website, and remember that we can customize any order to your liking, putting any name, date, or inscription you desire. We have everything; gifts for roommates, girlfriends, boyfriends, wedding gifts, tradition sets in wine glasses or water goblets, beer mugs, pitchers for ring dunking, even baby bottles! Just let us know what you need, and we will customize it just the way you want.
Our club holds our meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at various venues around El Paso. We have an annual Kickoff Salad Supper in August, a Holiday Cookie Exchange in December, and an Ice Cream Social in May where we present our new Scholarship recipients with their certificates and personalized "Aggie" mugs.
The other thing we do is act as a support group. We're a long way from College Station and it was hard for all of us to send our kids away to college. Personally, I've found out what a blessing the Aggie Mom Network can be. My son became very ill and was rushed to an emergency room several years ago while attending A&M. For some reason, my first instinct was to find an Aggie Mom who might be close. I contacted the Federation president and she gave me the name of someone in College Station who might be able to help. While I was talking to that Aggie Mom in College Station, her husband was on the way to the hospital to be with my son. To this day, I am amazed that someone just dropped what they were doing to help a stranger, but I'm not surprised. It's all about the Aggie family.
Thanks for visiting us, and let us know what we can do for you! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Barbara Cotton, our Glass VP, Rosanne Peyton or me. We’d love to hear from you!
